Our topic for our November 19th AGS meeting is Maps.  We are pleased that our presenter will be William A. Wallace. William is the graduate intern at the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections & Archives at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He will give an overview of what is in the UAF Rasmusen Library rare books and maps collection and share several unique documents. He will show us how to find and use two sites for maps, and how to do online catalog searching. An AGS board person will briefly share about Sanborn maps and how to use them in your genealogy research.

Our guest speaker for January will be Brian Rhinehart. Brian is an expert on Civil War Records and owner of the web site CivilWarRecords.com. He is a member of the National Genealogy Society, a regular exhibitor at RootsTech, and a researcher for the television program Finding Your Roots! Brian's presentation will answer the question "I Have a Civil War Ancestor - Now What?" Don't miss this opportunity to hear one of the country's foremost experts on Civil War Records and locating those records at the National Archives!
